Cedar pavilion
Decks & pavilions · Finish study

Posts, beams, and a metal roof over a stone floor, tied back to the house without soaking the ledger. Built to sit outside in July and still be worth walking to in October.
- Spans and connections are sized. A pretty beam that sags is not a finish problem.
- Flashing at the house is part of the structure, not trim.
- Ground screws or concrete footings, chosen for the load and what is under the yard.
- Add heat and lighting if you intend to use the room after the evenings cool off.
- Materials in this study
